Description
Le Grand Pierre is a 30 acre water securely gated near the small town of Neuves-Maisons close to the River Moselle. There are 20 swims for a maximum of 12 anglers and all easily accesible by your vehicle. Arrive 2 pm Saturday, Leave 12 noon the following Saturday.
The whole lake is pretty uniform in depth and this being around 9 to 10 ft obviously depending upon the water level at the time. This naturally shallows up close to the island margins. There are tall reed beds around the lake and the margins drop off immediately, some swims there is 6 ft of water right at the side of the reeds so don’t ignore the immediate margin. A few mussel beds can be found but in general it is a pretty clean flat bottom. The areas the carp have fed in recently will feel slightly firmer. There is no weed to contend with, just little bits on the marginal shelf.
With so little feature it puts everyone fishing in with an equal chance and the more on there, the more the fish will move around expending energy and feeding more so a good quality boilie will definitely score here with less effort for maximum gain.
You are free to totally self-cater and cook on the bank if you wish, but Daniel’s food package is worth serious consideration for anyone wanting treating, you will definitely not go hungry.
Breakfast is served fresh from around his kitchen where there is a large seating area with a tremendous view of the lake. Evening meals can be delivered to your swim should you not want to leave the bank.
